Our Dogs

Our terriers share our home with us, including our cat and are a big part of our everyday activities in and out of the house. We are very lucky to live a short walk away from the shores of Lake Huron so our dogs are a tad spoiled. They enjoy many hours in the water and running along the beach in the warmer months.  While Indy and Gage are tough ones to get out of the water, Jada is still trying to figure out her doggy paddle.

We do not have a “kennel” type setting with fenced areas for our dogs; although we have the underground fencing system which works great for them. The underground system allows our terriers three acres of endless sniffing grounds; living in a mainly wooded area the dogs are constantly hunting, chasing squirrels and digging giant holes as they please. Sounds pretty good for everyday life, but we know they’d prefer to be out working in the field after real quarry. Luckily, our family farm consists of 150 acres of heavy bush and rough terrain allowing our terriers to show off their real skills.  A Terrier’s dreams come true!

All our terriers within the breeding program have been BAER (Brainstem Auditory Evoked Response) tested and undergo a CERF (Canine Eye Registration Foundation) examination annually.  They have also been tested for a heritable disease called Primary Lens Luxation (PLL).  We are careful to select Stud Dogs who are also PLL normal, BAER tested and up to date with an annual CERF exam.  All our terriers are registered or recorded with the Jack Russell Terrier Club of Canada (JRTCC) and the Jack Russell Terrier Club of America (JRTCA).
